No injury scare for Ishant says Team management

Canberra, Dec 15: Indian team management has cleared the air as rumors about Ishant Sharma fitness was doing rounds after he was forced to leave the field bowling just 5.3 overs during the practice match against Cricket Australia's Chairman XI in Canberra on Thursday.

Ishant experienced pain in the ankle for the second time as he pointed his ankle to the physio and left the ground. Fact is that, he was actually carrying an ankle injury since the tour of England, suggesting a chance for breakdown.

Ishant was forced to leave the field after bowling just 5.3 overs, Indian team manager Shivlal Yadav said,  Sharma was slated to bowl only 6 overs in the first two practice matches and the reason for him leaving the field and abandon one over was due to the loosening of the strap on his ankle which forced him to moe out of the field.
